Will modern technology such as the internet ever replace the book or the written word as the main source of information ?

Nowadays modern
technology is growing
rapidly and it seems it
going to replace many
traditional objects and convert them into more
suitable ones. How
successful technology can
be on that?
Technology has some
obvious advantages compared with books. Firstly it is
much cheaper and
convenient than books.
You can find thousand of e-
books , newspapers online
almost anytime and very
much cheaper than the
prices of a paper book.
Secondly you can browse
through any page and
search exactly what you
are looking for at a single click
button which is much
faster and suitable than
going through paper book
pages one by one.
However there are also
some disadvantages.
According to statistics,
scientists have revealed
that online reading process
is at least 3 times slower
than real book reading. That happens
because eye globe cells are very
sensitive against whatever
electronic screen.
In addition, if you keep
reading online books for a
long time , then the
screens radiation could be
extremely risky to your
health and may cause any
serious worry which
relatively could be even a
cancer!
All in all, internet has some
obvious advantages
against books. It's cheap,
fast, convenient, but it also
could be hazardlous and
healthless. Consequently
we should assess all the
pros and cons before to
make a judgement related
to the question.
